Over the past few days I’ve been in contact with Todd who is currently in Cairo. Although it is difficult to get around to the back of Menkaure’s pyramid Todd has managed to take a photograph of some excavations currently underway on the east side of Menkaure’s pyramid on the Giza Plateau.

Update on the Statue Discovered at Giza

MSNBC has another photo of the quartzite statue discovered yesterday on the Giza plaeau. The 149 cm tall statue is of a man wearing the typical Old-Kingdom shoulder-length wig. His right hand is clenched on his knee and holds an unidentified object while his left hand rests on his thigh.
