Friday Photo: Statue of Horus at Edfu

Located at Edfu is the temple of Horus, the second largest temple in Egypt, second only to Karnak temple. The huge grand pylons of temple measure 250 ft across and 100 ft high. At the entrance to the inner court of the temple is a large granite statue of the god in the form of a falcon. Behind the statue can be seen reliefs depicting the deification of Horus in his humanoid form which have been mutilated.
