Situated to the east of Teti’s pyramid, this pyramid was known as ‘The Pyramid Without a Top’, or the ‘Headless pyramid’. Lepsius referred to the pyramid as number 29 and it was thought that it may have belonged to 9th (or 19th) dynasty king, Merikare.
Maspero was the first to enter the pyramid in 1881 and the site was cleared by Firth in 1930.
The pyramid was uncovered again in 2008 by Dr Zahi Hawass’ team.
