Millitary Helicopter Arrests Man On Top of Pyramid
A man has been arrested by a military helicopter after climbing the pyramid of Khafre on the Giza Plateau. According to eye witness reports, when Police attempted to apprehend the man they were bombarded by chunks of stone (bits of the pyramid) being thrown at them by the climber.
The Egyptian police then arranged for a specialist to climb the pyramid after the man to arrest him. Fearing the man was concealing a weapon, the specialist refused to follow and so the Egyptian military were called in. Shortly after a helicopter appeared above the pyramid and the man was apprehended.
Other reports claim that the man was merely wanting to get a good vantage point to take a photo and once he was at the top was too scared to descend.
Here is the CNN report:
CNN got this confirmation from the Interior Ministry there: ‘Last night, April 8, a visitor to the pyramids, Hassan Farooq Anter, 24, climbed the Hafra Pyramid (the second biggest), and the police asked a specialist to climb the pyramid to arrest the man. However, due to fear that Anter had hidden weapons, the specialist refused. This afternoon, April 9, an army helicopter came down and apprehended Anter. Hassan Farooq Anter is a worker from Minyat al-Nasr al-Daqahliyah, Egypt. He has refused to explain why he climbed the pyramid and is currently under investigation by the Egyptian Authorities.’

Here is the report of an eye witness:
“I was at the Pyramids about 3 hours ago local time in Cairo, (around 4:00AM Eastern Standard Time US). All of a sudden to everyones amazement an Egyptian military helicopter came blazing in! Apparently just before a man had scaled to the top of Khufu, the middle of the three Pyramids. The Pyramid police tried to apprehend him and he started chucking Pyramid rocks at them so he got away to the top. Then the military came in, dropped some commandos down and somehow wrestled him aboard the chopper you see. All took about 10 minutes max.” – Darrel Butler, Austin Texas.
