Hidden Chambers Beneath the Sphinx?
Dr Zahi Hawass has posted an update on his blog on the work recently carried out at the Sphinx and the search for secret chambers. Did they find Edgar Cayce’s fabled Hall of Records?
Last year, we drilled several holes around the Sphinx in order to measure the level of the groundwater, and we sent cameras down into the drill holes. One went underneath the left paw of the Sphinx, 80 feet under and through to the other side, and the camera saw nothing there. We showed to everyone that there is nothing underneath the Sphinx, certainly no lost civilization hidden there. We found that the water table is 5.5 meters underneath the Sphinx, and it consists of fresh water, which will not damage the monument.
He also mentions the four large rectangular boxes that surround the Sphinx and how some have speculated what might be inside them. So a radar survey was conducted and found that the boxes are made of sold rock confirming Mark Lehner’s theory that the boxes were probably built as statue bases.
It would be a great achievement to show to the New Age people and similar believers all over the world that there is nothing hidden under the Sphinx, which many people have claimed before.

edgar cayce Said right paul these guys are liars and are not giving the full story about it Bashar – Hidden Chambers in Sphinx and Pyramids hes says in the video 1998 we will know what knowledge is hidden beneath the sphinx but the movie stops there. wonder why because they don’t want us to know anything of our history and what might be to come out of the knowledge goverment will lose contorl just tell the public the truth this is bs we are not little kids but if we were it might be easy to digest the information. but adults are going to have theroy one and two and so on
This article is very biased. I neither believe nor deny the possibility of anything which may lie beneath the ancient and mysterious monument, but I cannot take this article for absolute truth. Furthermore it’s specific notions towards “New Age” believers further illustrates it’s attempt is not one of scientific inquiry but rather an attempt to discourage so called “New Age” persons regardless of, A) defining such persons and B) adequately defining such knowledge or beliefs therein.
