Egypt Unwrapped: The Pyramid Code

For those of you who missed National Geographic’s recent premier of Egypt Unwrapped: The Pyramid Code I’ve gathered up some short excerpts for you here.

There are some interesting behind the scenes videos that are worth watching. I was particularly interested in this next video where we see behind the scenes as the National Geographic team set up to record inside the pyramid of Unas.

And here is part of the completed video:

  1. Thanks for the invaluable post! I don’t have the National Geographic channel, so I really appreciate this post.

I too enjoyed the video featuring the Unas Pyramid. The Field Museum in Chicago has a replica that I’ve been through an insane amount of times; although, I’d love to go through the more claustrophobic (and real!) structure.

    The inscriptions are amazing!

  2. Hi Jenny,

I am glad you enjoyed it. Have you also visited the Pyramid Texts Online? It is a two dimensional recreation of the tomb of Unas and all of the inscribed walls can be viewed. It also has English translations, photos, tools, a library, a study area and more. You can find it here:
