Ancient Statue Found on the Giza Plateau
A life-sized statue of a seated man has been found on the Giza plateau just north of Menkaure’s pyramid. It was discovered by mainentance workers just 40 cm below ground level.
Dr Hawas has said that it’s age is not easy to identify as it has no inscriptions on it by from the way the statue was structured, it probably dates to the fourth dynasty (2575-2465 BC.).
There is no mention of it yet on the website of Dr Hawass but I assume there will be soon.
