Ancient Egypt News for Saturday 19-12-09
A few stories today on the return of artefacts to Egypt, with a piece by Zahi Hawass who says it is time for the antiquities to return home, and the Berlin Museum refuses the return of the Nefertiti bust to Cairo.
More on Cleopatra’s artifacts being raised from the sea with a video interview with Zahi Hawass, Leena gives us a close up view of the cartouches on her painting of Cleopatra and Caesarion on her Ancient Egyptian Art blog, and also a photo of the same scene Leena is painting. And to top it off, here are a couple of old photos of Alexandra and ‘Cleopatra’s Needle’ from the Brooklyn Museum’s Lantern Slide Collection.
