Today’s news items start as usual with some photos: two photos of the cat goddess Bastet, and a photo slideshow from the King Tut Gala, where more than 500 guests got a sneak peek at the treasures of Tutankhamun at the Art Gallery of Ontario and never before seen photographs by Flinders Petrie on display in the Petrie Museum in London in an exhibition called Framing the Archaeologist: Portraits and Excavation.

Keeping with the theme of Archaeochemistry from the past few days there is a lecture coming up called ‘Forensic Egyptology’, by Janet Davey Sat, Jan 2, 7pm at the Mummification Museum, Luxor and a link to the Biomedical and Forensic Studies in Egyptology MSc page at the University of Manchester.
